American actor Courtney Thorne Smith was born on the 8th November 1967. Her roles include Alison Parker in Melrose Place, Georgia Thomas in Ally McBeal, Cheryl In According to Jim and Lyndsey McElroy's recurring role on Two and a Half Men. Thorne Smith was born in San Francisco and raised in Menlo Park (a suburb to San Francisco). Walter Smith was her father and Lora Thorne was her mother. Both were computer market researchers. Courtney, who was seven years old at the time, divorced her father, Walter Smith. She was a part of both of her parents in different periods of time. Jennifer is her elder sibling, is an advertising executive. She attended the Menlo-Atherton High school located situated in Atherton, California, and graduated from Tamalpais High School, in Mill Valley, California, in 1985. While in high school, she was a member with the Ensemble Theater Company of Mill Valley. Thorne Smith was a part of her first film appearance in 1986's Lucas with Winona Ryder and Corey Haim. In the 1980s, she appeared in a variety of films, like Welcome to 18 (1986), Revenge of the Nerds II : Nerds in Paradise (1987), Summer School (87) and Side Out (1990). She starred with Carrot Top in 1998's box office failure, Chairman of the Board. In 2009, she starred in Sorority Wars. Thorne Smith was the lover of Andrew Shue from Melrose Place in the early 1990s. In June 2000, the actress was married geneticist Andrew Conrad; the couple split in January 2001. Roger Fishman, the president of Zizo Group marketing and author of What I Know, was her husband. The couple welcomed Jacob Emerson Fishman on January 11, 2008, at 40.
