In the past i.e. in the beginning of 2020, comedians may have expected to spend many years performing across the UK in stand-up comedy, before being invited to join a television panel show and selling the arena tour. It's not as simple. Comedy is a form of art that has been able to continue to be performed in the presence of a live audience, but we're not going to be having arena tours anytime soon. One Bristol comedian, however, has managed to attract an enormous global audience during lockdown through social media. The pursuit of fame on the internet isn't something that Abi Clarke was hoping to achieve. Abi, who is 24 is from Henbury, and started making online videos "to build a network of like-minded people who would appreciate my standup comedy." "I had been performing many more gigs in Devon to males aged 50 and above, so I started creating videos online in the hopes to build a following of like-minded people who would appreciate my stand-up comedy." Abi said.
